Face pain may be caused by toothache or by inflammation of the nasal and sinus cavities. Jaw pain may in fact be a psychological problem—teeth-grinding is a frequent cause—but it can also be due to the head sitting awkwardly on the shoulders, which can produce increased strain on the joint between the jaw and the skull.

In Chinese theory the mouth is associated with the spleen — an organ traditionally linked with digestion, so red, lustrous lips suggest that food is being well digested and assimilated, while pale lips indicate poor spleen energy with a weak appetite and abnormal digestion. TREATMENT OF INFECTED PUNCTURE WOUNDS: Place a piece of moldy bacon fat on the wound and bandage overnight. It will draw the infection from the wound.
STOP PAIN OF PUNCTURE WOUNDS: Pour kerosene on the Wound immediately after the injury. It will take the soreness and vain I from the wound.

Because I was not being careful and was not watching what I was doing, I stepped backwards onto the rake. It went clear through the foot and I had an awful time pulling the rake back through the foot and shoe. If I had not had the kerosene to pour on the foot I would have had to stay off my feet for weeks. As it was, I never had to stop using the foot; I only had to hobble around for several days. Kerosene does help take most of the soreness out. (more…)

It is a demulcent and expectorant, traditionally used to treat asthma, coughs, and congestion. The leaves have been used to treat cramps, diarrhea, hemorrhage, ulcers, and tuberculosis. (more…)
