COLDS

Include the following in the diet: Vitamin C (500-1 000 mg daily), carrots, dandelion greens, spinach, oranges, grapefruit, guavas, horseradish (freshly grated root on bread), onions, chives, green peppers, elder flowers, cabbage, elderberries, Brussels sprouts, tomatoes, turnips and watercress.

Include the following in the diet: barley water, grated apple, asparagus, green beans, cabbage, cauliflower, dandelion greens, grapefruit, lemons, lettuce, oranges, pawpaw, parsley, prunes, spinach, sweet potatoes, wheatgerm and watercress.

Blackjack

Make a tea using 12,5 ml young blackjack tops in 250 ml boiling water. Stand, steep, strain. When warm enough to be pleasant, place in an eye-bath and use as a wash 3-6 times a day to clear the condition.

Cornflowers

Make a tea using 60 ml herb to 250 ml boiling water. Use as above.

Cloves

Place 5 cloves in 250 ml boiling water. Use as above.

CONSTIPATION

Include the following in the diet: raw beetroot grated with apple, barley water, cabbage (raw and lightly steamed), grated raw carrots, celery stalks and leaves, dates, green mealies, pawpaw, peaches, grapes, lettuce, onion, chives, green peas, pears, fennel (leaves and stem), sprouts (mung beans and alfalfa in particular), fresh pineapple, pumpkin seeds, raw spinach leaves, quince, radish, raisins, rhubarb, sesame seeds, soya beans, summer squash, turnips, fresh tomatoes, fresh strawberries, walnuts and bran.

Violets

Make a strong tea (125 ml leaves and flowers to 250 ml boiling water). Sweeten with honey and drink first thing in the morning.

Prunes

Soak overnight in water and eat first thing each morning. Figs, fresh or dried, soaked overnight in water are also effective.

Honey

Replace sugar with honey in your diet.

Apple

Eat an apple first thing in the morning.

CONVULSIONS

Include in the diet: brown rice, cabbage (lightly steamed) and fresh green mealies.

Make a standard brew tea from Fennel, Catnip or Chamomile, and drink a little at intervals throughout the day.
