TOOTHACHE
Toothache is usually a sign of the need for dental work to repair or fill a hole made by decay, so a visit to the dentist is advisable if the ache lasts more than a day or so.
Teeth Pain Herbal medicine
Soak a swab of cotton in oil of cloves—a natural nerve anesthetic—and place it on the hole, or dab it around the sore tooth. Alternatively, chew a raw clove on the sore spot. Cinnamon oil, peppermint extract, or brandy, on cotton, are substitutes. The herbs white willow bark and meadowsweet are natural painkillers, but are best taken as tablets available through health food or drugstores.
Teeth Pain Hydrotherapy and homeopathy
An ice-pack held to the face over the sore area (a bag of frozen peas is ideal) can bring relief. The following homeopathic remedies can also help. For throbbing and/or burning pain: aconite 3c. For nerve pain, especially in children: chamomila 3c or 6c. For pain with tearfulness: pulsatilla 6c or calcarea phos 6c.
Teeth Pain Electronic devices
TENS, intasound, and massage devices are all effective against toothache. Treatment needs to be for three-quarters to one hour.
Streaming eyes and running nose are classic symptoms of hayfever. Late spring and early summer are times for sufferers to be particularly on their guard.
Teeth GINGIVITIS
Gingivitis is inflammation of the gums, usually from poor tooth and gum care, causing sore and bleeding gums and, in extreme cases, loose teeth. Regularly rub the gums with lemon juice, salt, or sodium bicarbonate, then rinse out thoroughly. Follow with a mouthwash of the tinctures of calendula, myrrh, and wild indigo, or hypericum in warm water. If bleeding from the teeth is heavy, take the homeopathic treatment phosphorus 30c (1 tablet every 10 minutes, and then hourly as necessary).
TOOTH ABCESS
An abcess is a small, pus-filled boil in the root of the tooth, also known as a gumboil. Treatment is normally from a dentist, who will usually perform surgery to drain the pus or remove the tooth, and prescribe antibiotics for the infection. The hydrotherapy measures that are recommended for toothache may also help to alleviate the pain of tooth abcess.
Teeth Pain Homeopathy
Start with belladonna 200 every hour, followed with silicea when the abcess has been drained. Hepar sulf 30 or 200 is recommended for a less serious abcess (again followed with silicea). Hypericum 30c and hypericum as mouthwash can help after a tooth has been taken out.
Teeth Pain Herbal medicine
After dental work, rinse the mouth with hot water mixed half-and-half with calendula tincture.
Oils of juniper, peppermint, or cloves applied to the gums will give relief from toothache. Having a regular dental check is the best way to prevent painful tooth decay. This applies to children as well as adults.
