2 tablespoons red clover blossoms
2 tablespoons lavender flowers
10 drops lavender essential oil
12-inch square piece of muslin or cotton handkerchief
Stress increases the production of internal toxins and hinders the body’s detoxification processes. Purification, healing and rejuvenation are more easily accomplished when the body and mind are relaxed. Herbs are wonderful allies not only for detoxification, but also for soothing and calming the body, mind, and spirit. This fragrant bath combines the purifying properties of nettle and red clover blossoms with the relaxing properties of lavender and linden blossoms. This is a wonderful bath to come home to after a stressful day. Brew a cup of cleansing herbal tea, light a candle, and listen to your favorite soothing music to help you relax while purifying your body and mind.
Place the dried nettle, red clover, lavender; and linden in the center of the handkerchief or square of muslin. Gather the corners of the fabric and tie with a piece of ribbon or cotton twine, making a loop long enough to hang over the tub faucet. Hang the packet of herbs over the faucet so that the water runs through the herbs, and fill the tub with hot water. Remove the herbal packet and place in the bathwater.
Add 5 drops of lavender essential oil to 2 tablespoons of almond oil, and massage your entire body with deep, slow, relaxing strokes. Just before entering the tub, add 10 drops of lavender essential oil to the water, dispersing the essential oil through the water with your hand. Soak for 15 to 20 minutes, allowing all of the tension to drain out of your body. Rinse off with tepid water and relax.

Herbal Deep Detoxifying Bath
You’ll need:
2 tablespoons dried yarrow flowers
2 tablespoons dried rosemary leaves
2 tablespoons dried crushed juniper berries2 tablespoons dried ginger root
12-inch square piece of muslin or cotton handkerchief 5 drops juniper essential oil
5 drops rosemary essential oil
1 teaspoon distilled witch hazel
This powerful deep-cleansing herbal bath treatment is good for fending off a cold or flu. Yarrow and ginger have antimicrobial properties and promote sweating and the elimination of toxins through the skin. Juniper and rosemary also have antimicrobial properties, help to open up the bronchial passages, and stimulate circulation as well as help to ease the muscle soreness that often accompanies viral infections.
Place the dried herbs in the center of the handkerchief or square of muslin. Gather the corners of the fabric together and tie into a ball with a piece of ribbon or string, making a loop long enough to hang over the tub faucet. Hang the herbal packet over the faucet so that the water can run through the herbs. Fill the tub with hot water, remove the herbal packet, and place in the bathwater. Steep for 5 minutes, and then add the rosemary and juniper essential oils, diluted in witch hazel. Disperse the essential oils throughout the bathwater with your hand. Soak in the tub for 15 to 20 minutes, rinse off with tepid water, and towel dry.
To further encourage deep internal cleansing, drink a couple of cups of hot yarrow-peppermint-fennel tea while soaking in the bath. Both yarrow and peppermint have diaphoretic and antimicrobial properties and help to eliminate toxins by stimulating perspiration. Fennel seed has expectorant properties and helps the lungs to expel mucus.
